MY FIRE TRUCK COLLECTION

Bill and Juanita Lands

Brooks, Kentucky

Bill and Juanita Lands of Brooks Kentucky are the proud owners of three Fire Trucks. The following is a brief description of these vehicles:

1958 MACK B405CF PUMPER

The 1958 Mack B405CF is one of seven built.  This truck was built with all Chrysler Running gear.  It has a 354 HEMI engine, New Process transmission, as well as a Dodge rear end.  It also uses six Lug Dodge disk Wheels.  Of the seven trucks built, this is the only one of the seven we have found to date.  This truck was built for the Palenville New York Fire Department.  Palenville is located in the Catskill Mountains of New York.  Around 1992, this truck was sold to Gary Hyde of Noblesville IN.  We purchased the truck from Mr. Hyde October 2004.  The paint is about 90% original.  Every thing on the truck works like new.

1956 DODGE / JOHN BEAN PUMPER

The Dodge was built in 1956 with John Bean body.  It also uses a 354 HEMI, New Process transmission, and Dodge rear.  It was in-service with two Kentucky Fire Departments, the Rosine Fire Department and the Robards Fire Department, during its career.  The Truck is currently being restored and will be at some shows in 2005.

1948 CROSLEY PUMPER AMUSEMENT RIDE

The Crosley is a 1948.  It was built in the late 1940's or early 1950's.  This vehicle was used as a children's ride for the Kiddieland Amusement Park in Louisville Kentucky.  We have been Crosley collectors for over 30 years and own about a dozen vehicles.

We are members of Derby City Antique Trucks Historical Society, Derby City SPAAMFAA, Crosley Club, and IH Collectors Club Chapter 24.  We are active in all these Clubs and we plan to attend about 20 Truck and Tractor Shows this year.

In our spare time we also operate a successful local Trucking Business.  Not a bad life for a couple well past retirement age.
